Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our classes, BYOB rules, cancellation policies, and planning your paint-and-sip event.
Absolutely not! In fact, most of our guests haven't held a paintbrush since middle school. Our events are designed for beginners. Our expert instructors walk you through the canvas painting step-by-step, explaining how to mix colors, apply strokes, and complete your own masterpiece from scratch.
We provide everything you need to create your art: a high-quality stretched canvas (16x20 or 12x12 depending on the event), professional acrylic paints, custom brushes, an easel, and a protective apron.
It depends on the event. Classes designated as 'Family Friendly' or 'All Ages' are open to painters aged 6 and up (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). Events labeled 'Adults Only' or '21+' are strictly reserved for guests aged 21 and older, as they may be hosted at partner venues where alcohol is served by the establishment.
No, Paint & Sip Alaska does not provide, serve, or sell alcohol. Our public events are hosted at partner establishments (such as local restaurants, breweries, or wineries) where you can purchase beverages directly from the venue. For private events, you are welcome to bring your own drinks (BYOB), subject to the guidelines of the venue hosting your party.
For public events hosted at local restaurants, breweries, or wineries, BYOB of alcohol is not permitted due to state liquor licensing laws—however, you can purchase beverages directly from the venue. For private parties, the event is hosted at the venue of your choice (such as your home, office, or rented space), and BYOB options are fully permitted. We do not provide or serve any alcohol ourselves.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you wouldn't mind getting paint on. While we provide aprons to protect your outfits, acrylic paint dries quickly and can stain fabrics permanently once dry. Leave the designer wear at home and opt for cozy, paint-ready layers!
For public events, you can request a full refund up to 48 hours before the class starts. Cancellations made between 48 and 2 hours before the class will receive a credit voucher valid for 1 year. Cancellations within 2 hours of the event start time or no-shows are non-refundable. Note that private party deposits and certain specialty venue events may have separate terms.
Yes! We love hosting private gatherings, including birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate team-building events, holiday parties, fundraisers, and community get-togethers. You can choose the painting theme from our gallery, and we travel directly to your chosen venue (such as your home, office, or rented event space) to host the class. Learn more and fill out an inquiry on our Private Parties page.
Please plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. This gives you plenty of time to check in, choose your easel, put on your apron, purchase any desired drinks from the venue, and get comfortable before painting starts. Out of respect for other painters, our classes begin promptly at the advertised time.
